Making your own ghee couldn’t be easier with the Thermomix. While ghee is the preferred fat for Indian cooking, it is perfect for adding to mashed potato and using for general frying. It has a high burn point and is dairy free. Making your own ghee is less than 1/3 price than ghee from the supermarket.
Melt the butter for 1 hour/Varoma/Speed 1.
Strain the ghee through a Cheesecloth to separate the solids.
I store my ghee in TM Essentials Reusable Pouches. Ghee can be stored in the pantry or refrigerator.
Makes 420g ghee.
