If you’ve bought a Thermomix®, you already know it’s anything but cheap.
It’s an investment into a new way of cooking that should serve you for years to come. Such a valuable device requires you to take proper care of it if you want to make sure this happens.
This doesn’t mean you need to walk on eggshells around it. There are many reasons why its value is so high, and durability is the main reason.
There’s a very high chance of anybody making a few mistakes while using it, especially in the beginning. When this happens, don’t worry, as you can fix most of them yourself.
One of the most common accidents that can happen is pouring the liquid into the bowl while it’s not connected to the base.
This can be quite risky, as the water can get into the unit itself and potentially damage it.
So what should you if you accidentally pour some liquid into your Thermomix®?
The best advice that I could share with you is for you to turn off your Thermomix® and call customer service, as this is the best way of getting help.
If you have the TM31, you should tip it on its back. This way, any fluid will stay away from all the electricals, and you can leave it to dry. After a couple of hours, try turning the machine back on and the problem should go away.If it doesn’t, seek help from a professional.
However, never place the TM5 or TM6 on its back. That’s where the power supply board is located, so this can only make the problem worse.
What you can do is turn off your Thermomix®, leaving it in an upright position, and wait for about 48 hours until all the liquid has dried out.
To avoid this issue altogether, make sure to explain how the bowl works to everyone that will be using the Thermomix®. They have toput the bowl into the cradle ONLY after it’s fully assembled, so make sure that your whole family is aware of this to avoid damaging your Thermie.
