Don't let your leftovers go to waste. With a little creativity and the help of Thermomix® Appliance, you can enjoy tasty and economical meals while reducing food waste.
According toKatherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D. of Mayo Clinic, you can keep your leftover food for 3-4 days in the fridge. Anything older than 4 days increases the risks of bacterial growth in food.
But why wait 3-4 days for your leftovers to be consumed when you can reinvent your leftovers so you can eat everything before it goes to waste?
So, how do you exactly reinvent your leftovers?
Here are some tips on how you can save money and avoid wasting food at the same time:
Leftover Rice
If you have some left over rice from dinner, you can make a quick and easy bowl of fried rice with some chicken or pork and veggies seasoned with soy sauce and chillies.
Or you can go for healthy Mexican for lunch. Make a healthy burrito using a wrap, left over rice, salsa, chicken or beef, cheese, and lettuce.
Add some sushi seasoning to left over short grain rice to use as a base for sushi rolls for lunch.
Rice can easily be frozen for future meals as well.
Leftover Meat
Shred leftover pork, beef or chicken using Reverse Speed 3 for a couple of seconds and use as for sandwich fillings or add to your favourite soups.
Or use to make quick an easy savoury pastries by adding some vegies, sour cream and wrapping in filo pastry. Serve with a side salad for a quick and easy dinner.
Leftover Pasta or Spag Bol Sauce
Why not use leftover pasta to make a pasta salad! Toss in some chopped veggies such as tomatoes, capsicum and red onion and a generous amount of vinaigrette to your pasta to make an amazing pasta salad.
Or for your remaining Bolognese sauce, simply top on a pizza crust or wraps to make homemade pizza.
Bolognese sauce is also delicious as a filling with cheese in a toasted sandwich. Or use as a base for shepherd's pie or on baked potatoes.
Remake your leftovers into new and exciting meals for lunches or dinner and reduce food waste today.

Great suggestions! Don’t forget cooked pasta or rice can be frozen (individual serves are convenient) and bolognaise sauce is great on baked potatoes or as the basis for a shepherds pie
