KFC Chicken Spice Mix

KFC Chicken Spice Mix

If you’re a fried chicken fan, or especially a KFC fan, then this one is for you. Make the famous KFC Chicken with this copy cat spice mix.

Use this delicious spice mix to deep-fry, pan-fry, air-fry, or even roast your chicken pieces, steak or even vegies!

Ingredients:

  • 30g sweet paprika
  • 20g garlic powder
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 350g flour
  • 250g buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 10 pcs chicken

Directions:

  • Add all spices to Mixing Bowl. 
  • Mix for 20 sec/Speed 10.
  • Add flour and mix for 10 sec/Speed 5.
  • Set aside in a large bowl.
  • In a second bowl, mix egg and buttermilk together.
  • Add chicken pieces to buttermilk and marinate for 20-30 minutes.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess buttermilk drip off.
  • Coat chicken in flour mix.
  • To deep-fry, heat oil to 180°C.
  • Fry chicken in small batches for 15- 18 minutes.
  • Remove chicken from oil and let drain on a wire rack.
  • To roast, cook at 180°C for 20-25 min until chicken is golden.
