Beer Bread

Beer bread prepared with your Thermomix® Appliance is a great option when you don't have any yeast on hand.

It's a simple and delicious bread recipe that relies on the carbonation in beer and baking powder as the leavening agents instead of traditional yeast.

Here's our easy recipe for beer bread:

Ingredients:

  • 560g plain or bakers flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder (omit if you’re using self-raising flour)
  • 1 tsp salt (omit if you’re using self-raising flour)
  • 50g sugar
  • 375ml beer
  • 100g butter

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Place flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in Mixing Bowl and mix for 10 sec/Speed 4.
  • Add beer and knead for 2 minutes.
  • Transfer batter to a loaf panlined with baking paper orbaking linerand smooth the top withspatula.
  • Place butter in Mixing Bowl and melt for 3 min/80°C/Speed 2.
  • Pour melted butter over batter in aloaf pan.
  • Bake for 60 minutes until golden on top and an inserted skewer comes out clean. 
  • Cool in pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
  • Serve warm or cold.
