Beef Wellingtons

Every now and then it's nice to look something a bit more special. But if you don't have much time to spare, this can seem overwhelming.

Here's great news for you! Since you have your Thermomix® Appliance to help you in the kitchen, preparing gourmet meals had never been so easy.

If you don't believe me, try our Beef Wellingtons. Easy enough for everyday meals or to wow your friends.

Beef Wellingtons

Ingredients:

  • 750g piece beef eye fillet (8 small pieces in total)
  • 50g onions
  • 30g butter
  • 100g mushroom
  • 4 sheets puff pastry, thawed

Directions:

  1. Slice beef fillet into 8 equal disks, season with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear beef on medium-high heat for 1 minute on each side until well-browned all over. Transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel and set aside for 10 minutes to cool.
  3. Place onion in Mixing Bowl and chop for 5 sec/Speed 4.
  4. Add 30g butter and cook for 3 min/100°C/Speed soft measuring cup off.
  5. Add mushrooms and chop for 10 sec/Speed 4.
  6. Cook for 10 min/80°C/Speed 1 measuring cup off. Set aside to cool.
  7. Cut pastry sheets into quarters.
  8. Light dust top of burger mold with flour.
  9. Wet edges of one square of puff pastry with water.
  10. Lay one piece of pastry over the mold. Place a piece of beef and spoonful mushroom mixture.
  11. Put edges together and press to form a parcel.
  12. Repeat with remaining portions.
  13. When ready to bake, remove wellingtons from mold and cook in preheated 220°C oven for 25-30 min until golden brown.
